AS A WINTER RECREATION AREA, OPTIMIST HILL'S FACILITIES OFFER A FULL RANGE OF ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS. THE CENTRAL LOCATION, WITH AFFORDABLE EQUIPMENT RENTALS, AND SKI / SNOWBOARD LESSONS, MAKE OUTDOOR PLAY EASY AND ACCESSIBLE FOR EVERYONE IN OUR COMMUNITY. OPTIMIST HILL OFFERS A SETTING FOR A RANGE OF OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES WITH A SMALL CHALET ON SITE TO REST, ENJOY A WARM REFRESHMENT, AND VISIT WITH FRIENDS & FAMILY.
The Optimist Club of Saskatoon’s motto is “Optimists bring out the best in kids” which explains our motivation to fundraise and build the Optimist Snow Park. We continue to raise funds to further expand the park chalet capacity to offer four season outdoor activities. The Club has organized the annual “Optimist Canada Day” celebration at the same park since 1967. As a club we support local youth groups involved with oratory, curling, band, sports and cultural activities with financial or volunteer aid as required. Our hill project provides local space for school, family groups, or individuals, to learn winter skills such as skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing, while creating family friendly space for all to enjoy during winter months.
